Yes, that’s right, folks – Bongo Boy TV is back with another installment and it is packed full of brilliant, fresh indie talent! Episode 3 of season 12 kicks off with Pretty Blackmore and the band’s video for You Didn’t Call. This track is a righteous punk rock banger that sees lead singer Minx cut loose and make her feelings known about a love that’s gone sour. The band looks fantastic in the video; playing along to the track in an empty warehouse with some killer lighting!
The NEW Bardots are never far from the action on Bongo Boy TV and their new single Thrill of the Night makes an appearance in this episode. We reviewed this track last month and were impressed by its “hard-hitting riffs”, “superb hooks” and “twisted social commentary”. The music video has a fitting frenetic energy; Wayne Olivieri and Nick Koontz Jnr. have done an amazing job of compiling scenes that mirror every lyric of the song.
My Girl Crush is the name of Todd Barrow’s new country rocker and its video takes a cinematic approach to conveying the heartfelt love story behind the tune. The video has a nostalgic, grainy quality that is a perfect fit for the song, and we are treated to some wonderful romantic footage of a young couple hitting the road together and wandering through the outdoors hand in hand.
STUDEO were featured in a recent episode and this time they are back on board with the music video for their song Right Now. The song is a catchy, upbeat pop number that is all about longing for a time gone by. The video features some brilliantly choreographed dancing and cuts back and forth between this and various flashbacks to the now-estranged lovers who feature in the song’s lyric.
The Dead Daisies are a Los Angeles-based rock outfit whose hard-hitting video for their song Dead and Gone comes up next. The video work is brilliantly chaotic; its over-exposed, visual-effect-heavy style is a great fit for the intense riffing that characterizes the song. The video sees the group perform along to the song on a massive stage and makes cutaways to some super vigorous fan dancing.
Crazy Comes Easy is a beautiful Americana tune that comes courtesy of Jackie Greene and its music video is a trippy, feel-good affair with a really unique concept. The video’s protagonist is an ultra-cool, hippie woman whose presence has the effect of turning the black-and-white world around her into bursts of color. There is also some really neat footage of a drum circle with a hundred-plus people all vibing out together. Very cool!
Last but certainly not least is R&B singer MkX and the video for his song One Sided Love. The Boston singer goes all out for this video, with several costume changes complementing his natural flair and style. He mimes and dances along to this track about unrequited love, transitioning between various nighttime city scenes.
