It’s hard to believe we’re already at Episode 4 of Season 11 of the Bongo Boy TV Series. This season of the renowned indie music video TV series has been the best yet by far. Presenting an exciting opportunity for artists looking to reach a wider network, this series airs on Channel 29 in Portland, OR as well as over 72 other television channels across the US. Episode 4 premiered on April 5th, and once again delivers an endlessly entertaining and quality mix of videos and music from artists around the world.
We’re quite familiar with the opening track of this episode – we’re big fans of Matt B & Eddy Kenzo‘s track Gimme Love (read our review of that single here). Following that strong opening is the impressive instrumental Ending Blues by GURLIK. A light and relaxed track with plenty of melodic movement, the production is accompanied by a visual journey through some of Arizona’s most beautiful sights and attractions.
We find some more familiar faces as the episode progresses and we arrive at Combine – Music & Thiunlife’s track Gigantesco (read our review of this single here). After that, we’re introduced to Greg Hoy & The Boys and their track Sure Got Cold After The Rain Fell. Soft and modern Americana in execution, there’s a bluesy feeling about this track, and the heartfelt rasp in the lead singer’s vocal is the perfect vessel to tell the story at hand. Leave The Key by Julius Sumner Miller picks the energy back up quite a bit. A hard rock track with a memorable musical hook, the rapid-fire vocals and highly technical riffs are electric and driving, and are complemented by intense, flaming visual effects.
GOLIATH by Chaz Kiss is no doubt a stand-out in this episode. Visually bright and captivating from the start, the track is a true alt-pop gem with powerhouse female vocals and a modern production style that creates an alluring, youthful atmosphere. Between the imaginative vocal techniques utilized and the extremely digestible songwriting in the chorus, this track has all the makings of a hit.
The range of talent that Bongo Boy Records always manages to procure for each episode of the Bongo Boy TV Series never ceases to amaze. In every genre and style, this remarkable label always seems to be able to curate a stellar mix of music, and their work on this TV series is a true testament to that. For anyone who enjoys discovering artists as they’re on the rise in their careers, this series is a must-watch, and Episode 4 of this season should be at the top of your list.
