Season 11 of the Bongo Boy TV Series is moving right along! This impressive indie label releases episodes of this program weekly, airing on Channel 29 in Portland, OR as well as over 72 other television channels nationwide (be sure to check here for your own local listing). It has become a mainstay in Bongo Boy Record’s programming, providing valuable exposure to their artists and entertaining music fans worldwide. This week we’re on Episode 5, bringing viewers a fresh set of excellent indie music videos from rising stars in a variety of genres.
This week’s episode starts with the alluring alt-pop tones of artist Meresha. This incredibly high-quality video takes us through some dangerous decisions gone right in the track Trouble – resulting in an entrancing nightclub atmosphere fueled by Meresha’s smoky voice. This is followed by the work of the Australia-based group Studeo. Their track Silence has a modern rock feel, with a powerful anthemic melody. The rich harmonies and driving rhythms complement the thought-provoking imagery about the future of our planet featured in the video.
Jane N The Jungle‘s track Ocean Creatures is a logical track to follow from a sonic perspective, taking a modern rock sound and adding a true alternative and female powerhouse element. The lead vocals in this track are nuanced and unique, offering a textured and captivating listening experience that pairs incredibly well with the futuristic, otherworldly scene created in the video. Stonks Bros is a group we’re hearing from for the first time in this episode, and on their track We Chose To Go To The Moon, we find an infusion of hard-hitting EDM, with layers of texture and dynamic synths, tied together by a complex and completely animated video as a truly entertaining accompaniment.
If you’re a fan of discovering new indie gems (and if you’re here reading The Ark, we know you are!) then the Bongo Boy TV Series is simply a must-watch. The endless range of talent brought forth by this label never ceases to impress. Season 11 has been nothing short of spectacular so far, and Episode 5 stands as a testament that things just keep getting better and better every week!
