“…my life’s direction was changed forever,” explains Pueblo, Colorado-native, James Travierso, in a tale about discovering the coveted “power-chord” as a youngling while sneaking into his dad’s band rehearsals.
After two tours and three albums over the course of an eight-year span with his shock-metal band, Angels of Deception, the band parted ways, and his solo electro-project, Element Tritium, was born. Named for a highly unstable, highly powerful isotope that is used to drastically increase the amount of energy released during nuclear fission and fusion, as Element Tritium, Travierso has released the gorgeously etheric projects: Within H-3-1, Division War (single), and his latest, Zero EP, which contains the lead-off single by the same name.
With articulate skill, James uses patient song-building, layering synth upon synth, upon synth, upon drum & kick. Laser-style, buzz-saw, liquid-textured tones rise and fall, ebb & flow, ripple and gush; creating a vast and emotively-inspiring expanse of sound which is somehow simultaneously minimalist—and complex—all at once.
The whole thing deliciously intriguing, physiologically inspiring, and spiritually moving. This is a song to move the ether in support of the good guys, and we suspect that James Travierso knows exactly what we mean by that. Be sure to check out Element Tritium’s entire catalog as we have zestfully done. It never fails to entertain.
