Wow. This girl’s got ‘dem pipes!
Born and raised in Washington D.C., and named after her grandmother; the singer-songwriter, drummer (started playing drums at the age of three), producer, and graduate of the Berklee College of Music known as, Glorious, has a list of influences that include everyone from Beyonce to Miles Davis.
Her unique onstage act often includes a bit of livetronica drumming which, when combined with her vocal prowess, creates a unique and memorable stage presence. That presence is certainly felt in her official debut single, Move, a fantastic showing of powerful vocals wrapped around a club-banger beat with high-end production.
All club-thumping aside, the track offers a gorgeously ambient break at the 2:00 mark. (Which instantly reminded me of Amel Larrieux.) The contrast is straight delicious. Dance, Club, R&B and Soul lovers…this is an impressive debut to say the least. We’ll be eagerly anticipating an album from this one.
WHOSE LOVECHILD…?
