Goldberg – Let’s Dance – Single Review | The Ark of Music – The best music in the world…you never knew existed.

Okay–okay…I’ve really got one for ya today… You’ve likely not heard of this guy, which of course is what makes this so damn cool. Cuz let’s be honest, it’s a lot more fun to get slammed upside the head with a brand new talent than it is to hear the same-ole-same-ole from the same-ole artists on the radio.

Born in Macon GA, and raised in Decatur GA, Daniel Goldberg (a.k.a. Goldberg, a.k.a. Goldberg the Artist) is, to no surprise, the son of a musician. His inspiration came early as he would sneak into his father’s rehearsal sessions as a kid…despite his dad’s objections. His musical journey would later include dabbling in the Cello, singing, playing guitar, and a love of hip-hop. But nothing inspired him more than soul music, and people, this love of soul comes across in his music.

Goldberg’s first official single, Let’s Dance, is a soul-infused ride of hip-hop-laced, brassed-up, disco-fantasticness. And it would seem the masses agree, as the first-time video by this brand-new indie artist jumped to over 45,000 views in just a few days. (Check it out below.) The horns are flat-out infectious, and the beat drives you out of your seat. (No, seriously…try to sit still to this thing.) Goldberg himself plays the perfect lead, a ringmaster to his band of funk-dealers. And let’s face it, at the end of the day, music is supposed to serve a purpose. It is our humble opinion that Goldberg’s purpose is clearly to make the world bump-and-jump. Let’s Dance is fun in a bottle…groove and funk on tap. If Us3 and the Bee Gees decided to record a number—simultaneously while throwing a party—pretty sure something similar to Goldberg’s Let’s Dance would be the end result.
