“These two gypsies met on a balmy South Texas night at a retired brothel called The Last Concert Cafe. Elizabeth was a down on her luck opera-singer, drowning her broken heart and luminous talent in too much tequila. Chris was a mysterious troubadour, quite sophisticated and yet consistently ill-behaved.”
Elizabeth Knudson (songwriter, singer), and Chris Knudson (producer, songwriter, singer, instrumentalist) met on Saint Patrick’s day. It was kismet, for it’s fair to say that life was in a lull for both, and purpose was elusive.
However, that serendipitous evening didn’t take long to bear fruit. Now, married with two children and adopting the stage moniker, LightBody Sound, this talented musical duo has found that sense of purpose once more, and taken it to new heights.
“They sing, they argue, they laugh, they cry, but all in all, they are out to awaken you to your divine power, your worth, the unlimited opportunity and possibility that is you…”
Mutually setting the same intention to create conscious songs which promote healing in listeners, the Knudsons are preparing to release their debut, self-titled album, LightBody Sound. In doing so, they’ve previously released the single, Gypsies, as well as their latest single, the sparkling and cheerful, What About Love, an ode to the most powerful force on earth.
Rolling keys and synth-strings open with a bright and hopeful melody reminiscent of Daya’s Sit Still, Look Pretty. All vocal responsibilities being handled by Chris, his timbre is smooth and confident, containing a Harry Connick Jr.-esque quality.
Our topic? Exploring the great mystery. The feelings it inspires. The behaviors it induces. The beautiful bi-polar nature of it all…
“Sometimes the view takes my breath away
Sometimes the view nearly drives me insane…”
WHOSE LOVECHILD…?
Harry Connick Jr. meets Daya…
