Citing an excitingly duplicitous list of influences which include Bach-to-Hendrix, Beethoven-to-Van Halen, Vivaldi-to-Vai, the Burlington, VT-based composer, performer and recording artist, Matt Rogers, traded in his guitar for the Chapman Stick® in 1995. That crucial moment led to countless opportunities where he and former band-mate Mark White were able to tour the USA’s high profile art festival circuit for over ten years while in the performance duo, Heartstrings.
Now a soloist, Matt goes by the fitting moniker, No Words Required, producing a fine anthology of recorded material including: Awakening, Aquarius, Days Gone By, Far And Wide, and others.
His latest piece of instrumental bliss, Up From The Ashes, is a beautifully arranged, tender-hearted sonic expression which clearly seats Matt as a young master of his craft, at the top of his skill and still ascending.
If previously you’ve never enjoyed a Chapman Stick® composition, then let this be your day. Let the classical scales and subtle, ambient synth tones soak into your being. You’ll be happy you did.
