Trained in music theory and composition, the Colorado Springs-based (by way of Memphis, TN) singer-songwriter, Matthew Browning, creates emotive musical atmospheres right at home with his iconic influences of Peter Gabriel, Queen, and Radiohead.
Accurately described as post-progressive rock with theatrical overtones, Browning’s latest album, Love & Grief, is represented by eleven fully-realized tracks of painstaking composition which offer color and depth rarely seen in our modern, cookie-cutter music culture.
The album’s lead-off single, Underneath The Willow Tree, offers nearly eight minutes of orchestral-ambient-pop-rock with industrial overtones. A tale of how loss can cause us to become ridgedly fixed in time, we are also guided to trust love’s potential…
“And if it takes a long time
To walk through your sorrows
Know that I’ll be here
And if it makes a difference
I’ll still be here tomorrow
You’re not in this alone…”
