Quitting his cushy corporate day-job and leaping into the unknown abyss that is the world of music, Andrew Tschiltsch (vocals, guitar) joined with Bryan Emer (bass) and Jered Piepenbrink (drums) to form the indie-alt-rock trio, Microcosms, as a way of freeing his spirit and following his sense of purpose.
The Chicago-based crew released their first EP, Know My Body in 2017; as well as its follow-up Fairytale in 2018. In their latest single, the bipolar, Forget Us, we get one part indie-rock—one part psychedelic—and one part punk, as a funky guitar riff is juxtaposed throughout with a dark bit of alt-psych-rock, and the quite Wes Scantlin-esque vocal prowess of Tschiltsch. Ultimately, what we have here is a timely and raucous protest against planet Earth’s remaining gatekeepers & holders of ultimate power. It’s a cool track…
“How can you find
Legitimate peace of mind
When you’re surrounded
By hatred in your life?”
WHOSE LOVECHILD…?
The Doors meets Puddle Of Mudd…
