“…a soul heavy with truth and a sound that naturally expresses wonder.”
Substantive rock-heads take note: we’ve got one for you. Offering only this in his Facebook bio…
“From the sludge we rise.”
…the only other information we have on the enigmatic, Nashville, TN-born & based, Arman Asadsangabi (a.k.a Oddnote), is what he has provided in his 2018 self-titled, debut solo album, Oddnote, an absolutely & fantastically riff-filled collection of seething, angsty 90’s-style modern-rock-meets-grunge. It’s kind of like Filter meets Nirvana (I’m not joking), and you should check it out.
Now, on the one-year anniversary of that album, Arman has released, Dreams, the lead-off single from his sophomore album, the forthcoming, Unknown.
Nirvana’s influence makes its presence felt once again in this punky-grungy-malcontented amalgamation, which seems to give grimy, sonic reference to Asadsangabi’s own, private dreamworld, or perhaps he is simply acknowledging the grand and wholly irony that is life. Either way, we get satiated with screaming riffs and wailing vocals…
“All the days I leave behind
Are days to calm my mind
And all the days I waste my time
I wonder if I’m fine
I can’t lie, I feel alive
I can’t lie, I feel alive…”
WHOSE LOVECHILD…?
Nirvana meets The Black Keys…
