Influenced by iconic country music figures such as Merle Haggard, John Fogerty, and Hank Williams Jr., the Pasadena Texas-based (by way of Houston) quartet known as Story Book Road has a simple musical mission…
“…provide fans and listeners with country music that will make them want to throw back a cold one and cut a rug on the dance floor.”
Consisting of Mike Coker (lead guitar, vocals), Bruce Randall (drums, vocals), Art Elders (bass guitars, vocals), and Trevor Reifel (guitar, vocals), not long ago the fellas released their debut EP , The Window of Your Soul, a collection of authentic country-American songs which offer an honest ode to country music’s past, present and future.
Particularly, the album’s title track, The Window of Your Soul, serves as the album’s stylistic and philosophical representative. Oak Ridge Boys-esque harmonies unite with the a Brooks & Dunn-like attitude to form three minutes and forty-seven seconds of country-rock that not only accomplishes the mission above, but also offers a bit of substance in the process…
“Take a good look through the window of your soul
Take a long look at all that you been told
You may feel you have traveled a little too far down the road
Take a good look through the window of your soul…
