Vista, CA and Bogotá, Colombia unite to form the pop-hip-hop-reggaeton duo from Los Angeles, CA known as, Tropicana.
Consisting of Randy Williams (MC, lyricists), and Enrique Suarez (producer, DJ), the two met each other more than 5 years ago as part of the LA hip-hop group, The Krave.
Though that group would eventually disband, Randy and Enrique continued to collaborate, and have recently released, Paradise, the lead-off single from their debut release, Mixtape Vol 1.
Lock the doors, shut the blinds, crank the box, and send your brain on vacation. Williams’ gruff street timbre melds seamlessly with Suaraz’s ambient, tropical, reggae-groove to create an ultra-chill sonic escape. This creative duo has come up with a formula which has something to do with combining ambient island sounds with focused urban rhythms and riffs. The result is a no-brainer: their sound is catchy, expansive, imagination-stirring, and dance-easy.
If you’re diggin’ on Paradise, don’t let it end there—be sure to check out the rest of Mixtape Vol 1 as it is packed with their trademark brand of focused, ambient flows.
