We last heard from Australian singer-songwriter Andy Michaels back in 2019, with the release of his album Incendiary Heart. This rich and substantive pop album was a real treat, and now he’s back with another remarkable release in a very similar vein. The single She Reminds Me of Beautiful is a gorgeous and expressive pop ballad-turned-anthem that’s full of excellent production and heartfelt songwriting at its core.
Throughout his career, Michaels has become well known for creating inspiring and memorable music, and She Reminds Me of Beautiful is no exception to this rule. This track grabs you by the soul and holds on for a full four minutes – with its soaring harmonies, complex lyrics, and a brilliant performance from featured vocalist Sharon Court, it seems that every aspect of this project is a highlight.
Court’s vocals seem to be a perfect match for the track, her powerful pop sensibilities and warm tone breathing life and expression into the lyrics. But the lyrics rise to meet the occasion – Michaels delivers us line after line of pure poetry, captivating the listener with his complex storytelling:
“The calls I longed for never lasted long
You said you were where you belong
The songs for me that nobody heard
You’ve taken them, on the wings of an Angel to the world“

Top this off with the gorgeous build from a simple acoustic guitar to a crescendo of strings and percussion at its peak, and it walks the line between emotional ballad and powerhouse pop anthem just perfectly. She Reminds Me of Beautiful is a stunning work that encapsulates all the things we’ve come to love from an Andy Michaels song – substantive, emotional, and uplifting work delivered in a package of modern pop excellence.
