Based in New York, NY, the alt-pop project known as, Atroblue Express, is previously known for their sultry-styled, trippy, electro-pop album, Quarter To Somewhere, a 12-track monster album which sounds like some musically ambient amalgamation of Morcheeba and Ellie Goulding. We especially recommend the album’s 11th track, Boundless.
“…a dream pop, alternative pop, space pop band that experiments with fusions of all music styles.”
Fast-forward a couple of years, and this Big Apple crew has released a new single, Kingdom Of Moments (KOM), their latest installment of etheric vocals and the provocatively non-typical subject matters. In KOM, acoustic and softly ambient electronic tones and rhythms unite with the topics of the day: consciousness, personal sovereignty, and the cultivation of true joy and spiritual wealth. In fact, no more accurate of a descriptor could be written about this uniquely, neo-alt-pop experience than the words written in the band’s own press kit…
“Kingdom Of Moments was born from a certain exhaustion that came about from trying to keep up with a fast paced society and finding happiness in a very material oriented life. It sprung from a feeling that ultimately, true joy and real wealth exist in the particular details and sensations of certain life moments. In the end that is our true kingdom, and it does not require money, only our presence and appreciation of that which surrounds us.”
We applaud this music, and we eagerly anticipate their forthcoming EP, which, in the band’s own words, “…promises to deliver a sense of wonder, optimism, and innovation.” My, how refreshing.
