Based in Jacksonville, artist Cory Driscoll is a twenty-year veteran in the songwriting community. His impressive and lengthy resume sets a high bar for his most recent release. But the nine-track album Eureka Springs delivers in the way only the work of a seasoned professional can; with nuance, depth, and musical richness.
Eureka Springs begins as a collection of warm, inviting, and textured folk sounds, walking the line between traditional elements and a blend of modern indie tones and defined by its authentic, unadulterated production feel. The progression of the album is artistic in and of itself, detailing a complex journey and ending in a much more psychedelic place than we began. The ability to be able to tell stories through sound alone is a rare skill that is found across this release, but the poetic and thoughtful lyrics certainly contribute to the overall cohesion and immersive nature of the work. Each and every track brings a slightly different flavor to the table, keeping the listener fully captivated from beginning to end.
Fans of an alt-leaning, indie-folk-centric sound will find so much to enjoy on Eureka Springs. The tenure that Cory Driscoll has acquired during his years as a musician is on brilliant display on this album. Eureka Springs is available now on all major streaming platforms, and fans can look for a limited run of 300 pressed vinyl to be available for purchase in April 2022.
