Singing her first solo in the 4th grade, Atlanta, Georgia’s, Katie Belle, caught a performance bug that hasn’t gone away.
Initially, Belle entered the industry in the Country genre, releasing 2013’s Next Thing In Tennessee, followed by 2015’s Georgia Moon, two lively and competent Pop-Country projects.
After enjoying a few southern accolades, Katie soon moved into the Pop sector, with offerings such as, Promises, and, Down For You, both of which served as preludes to her latest single, WAS, a song inspired by an emotional parting-of-ways with her high school sweetheart. (The same sweetheart that inspired previously mentioned, Promises.)
“We can retrace all our steps
We can re-breathe all our breaths, but its not enough
How do we get back to how good we was?
Belle’s nostalgic remorse has her longing for the comfort and safety offered by the arms she once knew in this pleasingly-minimalist, synth-centric, electro-pop, post-breakup anthem. (We especially dig the desperation in the song-break at 2:31).
BTW, keep an eye out for Katie’s June 7th release, Out Tonight.
