After a few years in the hip-hop production scene, Detroit MI-based DJ/producer Knarly Jones ventured off on his own. What has since transpired represents one man’s musical evolution in time and space.
While leading raves from Michigan to Colorado, Jones has also been busy recording in his dense-&-intense club meets house, meets dub, meets cinematic electro-style. The result is a series of singles such as Illuminate, Redemption, and today’s focus: Atonement.
Imagine launching yourself into outer-space, tethered to the nosecone of rocket-ship. Only a few things are different. Namely, outer-space is a sea of electro-melody, and the rocket-ship is a pair of mechanical wings, not unlike the Avenger, Falcon. If you can fathom such a trip. Jones’ latest single, Atonement, would be said trip’s sound-score.
Scorching peeks and valleys of layered, dub-style synth, crushing kicks, and an overall cinematic production come together to formulate and solidify one Knarly trademark sound. Check it out below.
