Founded by lead singer-songwriter, David Dorr, central Florida’s, Spayed Kooli, took its moniker from the swing fiddler of the 1940’s by the same name.
Opening for national acts such as, Montgomery-Gentry, Kellie Pickler, .38 Special, Pat Benatar, Charlie Daniels Band, Brantley Gilbert, and others; Dorr’s talents can be witnessed as humbly as a duo, or as loud as a six-piece.
Following up 2016’s 100 Years (Need), the boys have recently released their debut full length album, Ashtray Change, upon which we’ve run across their grimy, southern-rock single, Another Day.
It’s great when things aren’t complicated. Dig the song’s minimalist opening—with nothing more than a kick and few acoustic licks. Dig the vocal segue at the :30 mark. Dig the southern rock swag in this raucous ode to simple things and good times. Loaded with guitar licks, organ tones, full percussion, and plenty of room for creative freedom, Dorr and company are at their best when it’s all available in this 90’s style throwback…
“It was a good night, when we sat in the back of a long bed pick up truck
With a cold one, in my left hand, we’re all feelin’ live…”
