Per William, the ensemble’s founder and fulcrum, “I recently heard the phrase, “stay just a little while” and it felt like everything I’ve ever wanted to say in a quiet moment with someone I love.
So I wrote a song around it. It’s about shutting out the world… slowing down… and holding onto a moment you never want to end.”

“Just a Little While” is finger-and-thumb-strummed acoustic guitar at a relaxed but assertive meter. Brad Williams’ subtly quaking, immaculately earnest and produced voice paints the musical woodwork with aching emotionality – as per usual.
A gorgeous harmony implies an uptick in power, and drums arrive to offer said predicted energy bump. Piano offers elevation between frequency-dipping drum beats, and layered strings enter the mix like advancing columns of sunlight granted entry and autonomy through quietly parted curtains.
The chorus is big, but timid. Aspiring, but withdrawn. The song longs for the continuation of a moment, of the thorough awareness of an experience to assure the perfect and immortally crystalized memory. And with that final, faith-filled entreaty – “stay with me, it’s not too late” – the song ends; it takes a rest; it holds its breath for that smile of acceptance, or disappointing dalliance in disinterest.
But is it good?
Am I about to repeat myself? Well, yes, but not verbatim: “Just a Little While” is another riveting Timeseven track that hurts while it heals. It warms while it warns, soothes while it aches, and makes demands with a whisper. “Just a Little While” is a deeply affecting, soul-baring track, and I can’t wait to finish this very last sentence (type faster, Tiras!) and experience it – and feel it – again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (as per usual).
